Documentary Filmmaking · Toronto
I make documentary films about real people — the kind your family will hold onto, return to, and treasure for the rest of their lives.
A note from Armaan
A loved one's story, captured on film and crafted with care, becomes something a family returns to for years to come — something to hold onto, pass down, and share with those who never had the chance to know them personally.
Think about the people in your life whose stories deserve that. A parent. A grandparent. A community figure. Someone whose life, captured carefully and honestly, becomes something your family can hold onto forever.
I work with a small, trusted team and handle the full production from the first conversation to the finished film. I provide professional work that is deeply personal, and I don't consider a film finished until you do.

How It Works
We start with a virtual or in-person meeting to talk about the story, the person, and what you're hoping to preserve. From there we discuss scope, timeline, and pricing together. No pressure, just a conversation.
Archival photographs, home videos, letters, and family documents can be incorporated into the story. I'll guide you on what to gather and how. The more we have to work with, the deeper the film can go.
We come to you and conduct interviews, capture original footage at a pace that feels natural and comfortable. For longer productions this may involve multiple sessions across different locations.
Building the narrative, editing, sound design, colour, and music. I share updates throughout so you're never left wondering. Revisions are part of the process.
The film isn't finished until you say it is. Once you're fully satisfied, you receive a high-quality final file delivered via online link, yours to keep, share, and return to for the rest of your life. Mid-length and Feature films include delivery on an archival-quality USB keepsake.
Services

Background
I've been producing, directing, shooting, and editing since my early years at Toronto Metropolitan University. The technical side is second nature. What I'm always focused on is the story.
At CBC News, I cut content for national programming under tight deadlines and broadcast standards. That approach carries into every project I take on.
At TMU I won the TARA Award for Best EDI Project for a documentary exploring immigrant identity through sport, and placed third in a national hype video competition for Canada's Women's Soccer Team.
